A ceremony was held on Wednesday, 11 April 2018. at our University to award certificates to first Chinese tour guides of the City of Zagreb.
His Excellency, Mr. ZHAOMING HU, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Zagreb, together with the representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, Assistant Minister Monika Udovčić and Head Adviser to the Minister Barbara Mesić personally congratulated Libertas International University as the organizer of the event and the candidates. The celebratory event was attended also by the members of the Croatian Tourism Board, the Tourism Board of the City of Zagreb, the president of the Central and Eastern Europe Tour Guide Union and the presidents of Chinese tourism associations from Hungary, Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, as well as numerous tourism and media representatives. The city of Zagreb has thus gained the first 16 Chinese tour guides, who have approached studying at our University in an organised way, with a wish to showcase and represent the beauties of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb in the best way possible to their fellow nationals. Besides, the ceremony marked the presentation and founding of the Association of Chinese Tourism in the Balkans and the Association of Chinese-speaking Tour Guides aimed at gathering guides in order to make the stay of tourists more pleasant. Likewise, the cultural differences will most easily be overcome through the already-integrated Chinese, such as Chinese tour guides.
Systematically organised candidates with Chinese nationality and residence in the Republic of Croatia, motivated by legal regulations, decided to approach their education with the goal to represent and promote Croatian destinations with the highest quality of service, continuing on the previous cooperation agreements between Croatia and China. Libertas University is proud to be the first institution of education to hold the seminar for tour guides of the City of Zagreb for foreign nationals, and the award ceremony, attended by His Excellency, ZHAOMING HU, evidences the University’s global and international image.
